Like many couples, Kal and I put off preparing our will and trust until one of us got sick. Within a few months’ time, my husband was gone. Words cannot express how grateful I am for Andrew’s counsel, diligence and kindness. I wholeheartedly recommend the legal services of Andrew Meinzer.

Andrew’s kind of been the white knight. He’s come in and—helping everyone out, and none of us have objected to all of his hard work and effort . . . .
Excerpt from official Court Reporter’s Transcript of Probate Estate beneficiary testimony:
Andrew Meinzer’s expertise as an Elder Care lawyer is truly commendable! Andrew showed tenacity in following through with all the legalities of a contested conservatorship for my father. My father was at risk and unable to cope. Assets were being drained. Medications were not taken on time. Repairs were needed on the home. Andrew offered excellent advice, and was always available by telephone or email, responding to my concerns and questions within 24 hours, if not sooner. Andrew was sincere and compassionate toward my needs and those of my father. His excellent judgment in dealing with opposing counsel gave me confidence that we would win our case and achieve our goals. The result has been that my father’s assets are protected under permanent conservatorship. He suffers no more neglect, and continues to live in his own home with the security of a caregiver and visiting nurse. Andrew is an excellent lawyer and because of him I can rest assured that my father will be cared for and in a safe environment for the rest of his life!

I have worked with Andrew Meinzer over the past year to obtain a conservatorship for my mother. Throughout this difficult situation Andrew has been knowledgeable in his field, and supportive to me. He has always taken the time to explain the process and to answer questions that I may have or to explain what has happened during a hearing. Andrew is patient and compassionate and has taken me through the emotional and legal mine field of the court system. I have found Andrew to be ethical, kind, dependable, accommodating and approachable. He is a professional and I feel proud to have him represent me.
Mr. Andrew Meinzer’s Trust Administration expertise and advice have been invaluable to me since the death of my mother . . . . My parents had a Trust in place, but had not included any of their bank accounts and mutual funds in the Trust. My father could not perform these functions due to advanced dementia, so I had to do so. I first had to assume the role of Trustee, which was not easy as their Trust had some complex requirements for me to take on this role while my father was still living. Mr. Meinzer first handled the required legal actions for my mother’s will, then prepared the documents required for me to become the Trustee, including a new Successor Trust. When that process was complete, he gave me detailed advice on how to include their financial accounts in the Trust. In the case of a mutual fund, the process was so complex he had to handle it himself. Mr. Meinzer’s assistance and advice have continued to be crucial to me since the recent death of my father. He handled the required actions to record my father’s will, and has prepared and filed the documents required to transfer the assets of the trust to me.
I have enjoyed working with Mr. Meinzer very much over the past three years. He has always responded quickly and accurately to my requests for assistance and advice, and has been a great source of support for my wife and me during difficult times. I would recommend his services to anyone needing help with Trust Administration.

I’d like to take this opportunity to extend my thanks and appreciation for the outstanding legal services you provided in handling my conservatorship, and the Living Trust for my father’s estate. Your compassion, professionalism and attention to details made the process, although stressful and challenging, easy to bear.
I especially appreciate your diligence in preparing the many court documents that had to be created and filed with the Court. Not only did you have to get me appointed as Conservator, but you also had to petition the Court to cancel my father’s Living Trust, since we couldn’t find a signed copy, so that I could get access to his bank accounts. Then, after we later found a signed copy of my father’s Living Trust, you had to petition the Court a second time to restore the Trust, so that we could sell his real property, which was titled in the Trust. Your assistance and representations at the various court hearings was truly commendable.
I would be glad to recommend your services to friends and relatives in need of legal assistance. You may also share this testimonial with future clients as an example of your expert and competent service.
This is an uncompensated testimonial regarding the legal services I received from Andrew Meinzer.
I needed to hire an attorney to complete the Conservatorship of my father’s estate, four years after his passing. My previous attorney had billed and billed me without providing specifics as to what services were being rendered. They even billed me for a meeting that they had cancelled! They also proceeded to take actions, without consulting me and I found their attention to detail was missing. They did not follow-up important issues and did not provide what I felt was sufficient guidance in setting up a Conservatorship and in the end when they were called to account for themselves they basically abandoned me.
Given my previous experience I was very nervous about finding another attorney to finish-up what had been started and not finished by the previous office. I was given Andrew’s name from a referral from another attorney I trust in San Diego. I met with Andrew who I felt has a way of making you feel you are important. From the start I felt confident in hiring him.
One of the first items Andrew had to do was satisfy the court that he could complete the accounting and resolve all of the open issues to the court’s satisfaction. He also worked with the court to provide us enough time to get the remaining tasks completed to close out the conservatorship.
I especially liked that Andrew included me in each step of the process; what alternatives I had, if any, and together we came to a mutual agreement as to what our future course of action would be. Throughout the process Andrew always walked me through each and every document and explained its purpose, what it was meant to do, and if we were requesting any decisions to be made by the court, what the most likely outcomes could be. I never felt I was “out of the loop” and was never made to feel that my point of view did not count.
Andrew, and his paralegal who compiled the years of financial statements I had provided for the court, were very thorough and successfully documented multiple years of data to complete the Conservatorship. Andrew also realized that the process could be dragged out much longer than needed; but as I was the only remaining heir and interested party he convinced the court that it was in everyone’s best interest, including the court’s, to complete the conservatorship accounting at an earlier point which saved all of us time and me money.
After my previous experience, it was a huge relief to find Andrew’s billing statements were clear and consistent and charted his every effort on my behalf in a manner that I could understand. I wish a lot more lawyers would provide billing statements like Andrew’s.
Andrew was always prepared for our office meetings and for all hearings we had with the court. He discussed in advance with me the questions that would be asked by the judge and the reasoning behind the questions so I would know what the appropriate answer should be. His preparation and demeanor were also important in helping me cope with the whole process. As I was very ill during most of these proceedings and had other family issues to deal with this entire process was very stressful; and as Andrew always laid out in advance what was most likely to happen during the court proceedings there were no surprises to add further stress to this situation.
Andrew also worked with my other attorney who was handling separate issues in relation to the Conservatorship and coordinated both their efforts to a satisfactory conclusion.
After having what I know to be some of the worst legal representation possible before having Andrew handle my affairs, I feel I now have enough proper experience to offer this endorsement: if you are looking for an attorney I would not hesitate in recommending Andrew Meinzer to trustfully and diplomatically handle your affairs.
